HFF Flycast, December 2021

Volume 14, No. 5, December 2021

Bonnie and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Many thanks to all for the friendship that you have shared with us these past years. We have had, and look forward to many more great times on the water and out of it in 2022.

We are certain that the coming year upholds all the many traditions our club has formed over the last twelve years. Fun, friendship and knowledge sharing, that’s what our fly-fishing club is all about.

We are especially thankful and looking forward to joining our family in Darwin this Christmas as we have always done since leaving the Territory.

We didn’t think until this week that we would be able to travel to the NT this year due to travel restrictions in place, and were feeling quite downcast, but thankfully, restrictions will be relaxed five days before Xmas. So here’s hoping we can meet all the testing regimes required and that the airlines co-operate.

We will be thinking about a day at the beach (or maybe not because of crocs and stingers) but like many of our friends here maybe looking forward to a little warm weather fishing!

While on the subject of being thankful, please take the time to read the article we ran into on a website called Flyfishingforum.com while surfing the net yesterday. It’s on page 5 of this newsletter. The contributor in turn found it in Western Fly Fisher so we don’t know it’s true origin. It helps put things into perspective!

Tight lines and dry waders to all, and to all a good bite.

Merry Christmas

Iain
